About Me
Hi there, I’m a security engineer and consultant living in an undisclosed location in the mountains of Pennsylvania with my beautiful wife and two cats. I’ve been in the industry for 14 years doing various things including incident response, security engineering, and vulnerability assessment. I currently do consulting work for a variety of companies in all industries, through Sygnia. I’m currently writing a book, and it’s going how you would expect.

History
At Sygnia I conduct comprehensive cybersecurity assessments to evaluate clients’ overall security posture. The assessment reports are tailored for consumption by both managerial and technical audiences, so every stakeholder receives value from the activities. I also support IR clients in containment activities during incidents, and in remediation and recovery efforts post-breach.
At Datadog, I led end-to-end security investigations across local endpoints and cloud infrastructure. I owned the implementation and support of the company EDR, DLP, and email security systems. Additionally, I wrote and contributed to numerous internal security tools.

At Cherokee Nation Businesses, I implemented and managed the first company-wide EDR, as well as a massive microsegementation project to portion off sensitive parts of the business.

At FlightSafety International, I joined as the very first security hire in the Simulation division, based out of Oklahoma. I designed the implementation of the first division-wide MFA rollout, and handled the evaluation and patching of vulnerabilities.
Where I got my start. Originally enlisting as a Cyber Systems Operations (3D0X2), I transitioned to Cyber Warfare Operator (1B4X1) as soon as I was able. My duties as a 3D were to support the aging AWACS system. Once I transitioned to 1B, my time was spent in incident response activities, mostly centered in South Korea.
